Established and new drivers showcase the Mini Super Twos with close racing at Birmingham Wheels Raceway and Yarmouth Stadium, as the first meetings of 2020 conclude.
The formula has once again proved itself as one of the most competitive and level playing fields to be found anywhere in motorsport, with three different winners from the first six races. The stars of the show at Birmingham Wheels on 8th August were #267 Danielle Weaver and #160 Jacques West, Weaver taking both heats in fine style and debutant West claiming first in the Final. Weaver finished second, making it a lucrative day for points and silverware for the young lady from Sussex, and #28 Steve Slipper rounded out the podium with third.
Eight days later the Mini Super Twos drivers, crews and officials made a last-minute appearance at Yarmouth Stadium, supporting Rookie Rods and Back-to-Basics Bangers on a very changeable day at the Norfolk seaside venue. Again, #160 Jacques West lead the way with two heat wins and second in an extremely wet Final from #16 Courtney Smith, with #81 Paul Cook coming home in third from #38 Dan Boys and #761 Matt Smith.
#03 Eden Dodson, stepping up from Junior Super Twos, showed pace against more seasoned drivers and, as the year progresses, will be one to watch as she gains further experience.
Everyone in the Mini Super Twos family would like to extend their thanks to Deane Wood, Gavin Botfield and Peter Gould for providing these opportunities to race during such unprecedented times.
